I found myself in a bit of a lull over the last two weeks. That’s not to say I haven’t been doing anything, but I’ve been contemplating how to present myself in my newsletter — I’m finding it hard to put together these final pieces. I did, however, expand on my brand guidelines and research more into CENTER’s portfolio review. The gallery that might be interested in representing me is the Bale Creek Allen Gallery in Fort Worth. I’ll be touching base with them later next week. I’ve also been brainstorming a press release to send out to our local stations. I’m getting a bit disheartened over a lot of the galleries that are accessible to me. I would love to add gallery exposure to my CV, but it’s hardly where I want to be. In a perfect world, I want to see my work in the Castle Fine Art Gallery alongside Bob Dylan’s paintings. I believe my work hits on those same notes, and now it comes down to how to best grab their attention. That’s the root of my lull: I’m still not even in the minor leagues, yet I’m aiming straight for the top-notch markets.

I also submitted my SBA loan. I asked for a lot, which, if successful, I will gain enough money to invest in other artistic endeavors. Realistically, I can see myself expanding into a commercial production company. I have a lot of experience in this area and find a lot of enjoyment in it as well.

I also created a flyer this week. This is another piece of my lull because I’m unsure if I should showcase the psychological or visual aspects of the project through these marketing items. I love its look, and I have found movie posters, such as Solaris (1972), that incorporate a similar strategy.
